2 taken to hospital after house fire in West Plaza neighborhood
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people were hospitalized early Saturday morning after a house fire in the West Plaza neighborhood, according to the Kansas City Fire Department. The call came in just after 8:15 a.m. on Jarboe Street near West 44th Street. Saturday morning shooting now being investigated as a homicide Crews arrived at the home and reported seeing fire. Firefighters helped two people exit the home. Both occupants were taken to hospitals to be treated for smoke inhalation and for further evaluation. The fire department also said the city's Dangerous Buildings unit was requested to respond to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
