Jesmond home card appeal for 100th birthday of 'absolute treasure'
A care home is calling for birthday cards to celebrate the remarkable milestone of an "absolute treasure".Maisie Dalziel, who turns 100 on 5 June, told staff at Fleming Court Care Home in Jesmond, Newcastle, she would like some "nicely written cards" to mark the of the public are being invited to send her warm wishes, kind words or even a cheeky home manager Karen Stewart said: "We'd be so grateful if people could help us make this birthday unforgettable for her."
Born in County Durham, the centenarian-to-be moved to Newcastle during the war when her father secured work at the Vickers became a nurse, and devoted her life to helping others in times of she was also known for her glamorous style and love of ballroom dancing.
