Preview: Egyptian League titans Zamalek, Pyramids FC battle for the summit - Egyptian Football

Egyptian Premier League powerhouses Zamalek and Pyramids FC are set to clash in a highly anticipated showdown at the summit on Friday. Pyramids FC currently lead the table with 21 points, just one point ahead of second-placed Zamalek, while defending champions Ahly sit in third place with the same 20 points, trailing the Whites on goal difference. Pyramids FC will be without several key players due to suspensions, including their first-choice goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy, midfielders Karim Hafez and Ahmed Tawfik, and forward Marwan Hamdi. Additionally, there are concerns over the availability of talented winger Ramadan Sobhi, who is nursing a muscle injury that kept him out of the recent 2-2 draw against Ahly. The team's Croatian coach, Krunoslav Jurcic, 55, will look to capitalize on the skills of his rising stars, including Congolese striker Fiston Mayele, winger Mostafa Fathi, along with Abdel-Rahman Magdi and Youssef Ibrahim. On the other side, Zamalek's Swiss coach, Christian Gross, will place his trust in experienced players like Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Mostafa Shalabi, Abdallah El-Said, and striker Seifeddine Jaziri to deliver a stellar performance on the field. In their past six encounters, the two teams have been evenly matched, with each game ending in a draw, including two fixtures in the Egypt Cup and Egyptian Super Cup, where Zamalek emerged victorious in penalty shootouts.
