BOSTON — Yes, Juan Soto flies on the team plane with the rest of his teammates, multiple New York Mets team sources confirmed on Monday, refuting a misinterpretation from WFAN morning host Boomer Esiason. On Sunday night's ESPN broadcast of the Mets' rubber game with the Yankees, play-by-play announcer Karl Ravech referred to the ancillary perks in Soto's $765 million contract with the Mets, which include the team assisting Soto's family with travel to road games. Esiason interpreted this to mean that Soto himself travels separately from the club, which is not the case. Advertisement Soto's tepid start with the Mets — he owns an .822 OPS but has struggled with runners in scoring position — has inspired plenty of body language interpretation, especially over the weekend during his return to the Bronx. Soto has explained why the 'Soto Shuffle' has been absent from his repertoire early in the season, and why he's spent time chilling in the bullpen with relievers.
