Canfield lacrosse bows out in district title game
CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Canfield girls lacrosse saw their season come to an end after a 10-4 loss to Lake Catholic in the Division II District Final on Thursday night.
Lake Catholic jumped out to a 5-1 lead at halftime before Karley Gerst scored two third-quarter goals for the Cardinals to cut into the deficit.
But the Cougars' offense proved to be too much as they answered each Canfield run the rest of the way.
Canfield's season comes to an end at 13-4 overall, which is the most wins in a season for the program since the 2021-22 campaign.
With the win, Lake Catholic improved to 16-3 on the season and will face off against the #1 seed Hathaway Brown in the next round.
