Peppa Pig is a big sister again, as the family welcomes its latest member Evie. Watch
Since it aired on television sets all across the world for the first time, Peppa Pig has taken the world by storm and has been loved by kids and has transcended language and nationalities. In an exciting announcement, Hasbro Entertainment and Karrot Animation revealed that Peppa's family has just expanded with the arrival of her newborn sister Evie. In an exclusive interview with People magazine, the character of Mummy Pig shared her experience of giving birth to her third child.
The beloved character of Mummy Pig expressed her delight with the birth of Evie and the team said in a statement, 'I'm so thrilled Evie is finally here, happy and healthy! I won't say it was an easy birth, because I'm not sure such a thing exists. But it was all worth it once she was snug and safe in my arms, and the family got to meet her properly.' She admitted that naming Evie was quite a task, but they decided to name her after Mummy Pig's great aunt Evie.

'It's been an adventure already! She's just as curious and excitable as Peppa and as playful and funny as George,' she says. 'They're already quite the little trio! Just like Peppa, Evie loves music — no matter what is playing, she'll jiggle and giggle along.' Media publication Daily Mail pointed out that Evie was born in the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital, where the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, gave birth to all her three children.
Mummy Pig added that they have been flooded by well-wishers, and she is really appreciative of such an overwhelming reaction. 'We are so lucky to have a wonderful network of family and friends to help us,' she shares. 'Granny and Grandpa Pig couldn't wait to book in to babysit, and our local parents' groups have been amazing.' Plus, we've had SO many well-wishers popping by to talk and bring us gifts and food – our freezer's never been so full of veggie lasagnes! We're so grateful to everyone.'
The show started airing in 2004, and it follows the adventure of Peppa, who is an energetic and curious pig who learns something new every day, and hence the cartoon series acts as a form of entertainment for kids while teaching them something along the way. It is currently available to stream in India on Netflix.
