Karwa Motors contributes RO 2.5m to local purchases

DUQM: Karwa Motors' commitment to strengthening Oman's industrial sector is evident in its growing reliance on local suppliers. Since the start of its commercial operations, the company's total local purchases have surpassed RO 2.5 million, reinforcing its efforts to integrate Omani businesses into the country's manufacturing landscape. In 2024 alone, Karwa Motors awarded business contracts worth more than RO 1.1 million to 93 small, medium, and local enterprises. This initiative aligns with the company's strategy to reduce dependence on imports, enhance supply chain resilience, and support local industries that contribute to the vehicle manufacturing ecosystem in Oman. Dr Ibrahim bin Ali al Balushi, CEO of Karwa Motors, emphasised the company's long-term vision of fostering industrial sustainability through investment in local suppliers. He noted that Karwa's partnerships with Omani businesses have helped lower import costs, improve supply chain efficiency, and minimize risks associated with global disruptions. Moreover, Karwa Motors is expanding opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to participate in various manufacturing and service-related activities linked to the automotive sector. The company is also developing training programs for local suppliers to enhance their competitiveness and ability to meet international quality standards, opening doors for them in both regional and global markets. Karwa Motors plans to further increase local procurement volumes as it expands its operations and secures additional commercial contracts. The company's continued investment in domestic suppliers not only supports Oman's economic diversification goals but also contributes to job creation and industrial growth within the country. — ONA Dr Ibrahim bin Ali al Balushi, CEO of Karwa Motors.
