R-H rallies for girl lax semifinal win
Rush-Henrietta got behind 5-2 in the second quarter, but scored the next three goals to tie and then pitched a fourth quarter shutout to get past Fairport in the Class A semis Wednesday night at Hilton High School.
Kate DeWald led the Comets with two goals and an assist. Bria Schlindwein and Emma DeWald added two goals apiece. Isabella Artessa and Riley Brown each chipped in a goal and an assist. Taylor Potwin made five saves, including a point blank beaut late in the third quarter.
Ellie Miller led all scorers with three goals for Fairport. Camryn DuBose scored twice. Lily Kondas had a goal and three helpers. Ella Peers recorded the 100th assist of her varsity career.
The Royal Comets are now 12-5 and will face top seeded Penfield in the Class A Final next Wednesday. Fairport finishes the season at 11-6.
