WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Bike West Hartford held a vigil Wednesday for the victim of a deadly pedestrian crash.
On Sunday, 63-year-old Stephen Mendelsohn of New Britain was hit at the intersection of New Britain Avenue and South Main Street. The vigil took place at that same intersection.

Bike West Hartford said any number of car-related deaths is too many.
'The town has committed to Vision Zero, which is this idea that you don't take traffic accidents as something that just happens,' said Katie Lance, who is on the board of directors for Bike West Hartford. 'But that includes improving our networks. This is known as a high injury network.'
Organizers said flowers and a pair of white sneakers will be left at the scene of the accident as a reminder of the life lost.
