Katie Price has 'black mark' over name after being rejected for rental houses

Former glamour model Katie Price has claimed she is discriminated against as she gave an insight into her life since being cleared of her two bankruptcies earlier this year Katie Price has shared her frustrations following her two bankruptcies as she claims she is discriminated against. The former glamour model, 47, has been open about her financial woes over the years. She has endured a tumultuous six years of money struggles, including two bankruptcies. The second of which happened following a significant tax debt of more than £750,000. ‌ However, in March she revealed she has been discharged from this - and is now ready to enjoy successes in the future. Katie, who once had a fortune of £40million, has still been hit by the consequences of her bankruptcies despite being cleared. ‌ The mum-of-five has revealed her financial situation is still hammering her life, having moved out of her Mucky Mansion last year. Following the move, Katie admitted she struggled to find somewhere else to live. She has claimed estate agents held a "black mark" against her name due to her well-known finances. Katie said she would receive calls from agents explaining properties had been rented to someone else after she expressed interest, yet claims they were still up for rent. ‌ It has left Katie believing she is being discriminated against as she tries to move forward. Speaking on the Katie Price Show podcast, Katie said: "I love it how I have gone through all what I have because I will get there again. "I just have a problem with when you have been in a bankruptcy, you just can't get anything. It is so annoying because I earn such good money. I earn, like I did back in the day, really good money but it makes no difference if you earn the money." She explained: "Once you get that black mark against your name, there's nothing you can do. Even when I go to rent a house, as soon as they know its my name, it is discrimination. ‌ "They are like 'Oh no, no' and I am like 'Oh is it because of what you've read?'. Does it really matter, I have got the money and I can pay upfront. It's the name that puts people off and it's such discrimination." Katie was first declared bankrupt for a year in December 2019, despite her worth being estimated at £40million at the time. She agreed to pay an eyewatering £12,000 a month to creditors in a bid to dig herself out of debt. Unfortunately, this plan proved unsuccessful, and in July 2020, Katie was back in court at a bankruptcy hearing, where she revealed she was living in rented accommodation which was costing her £4,200 a month. ‌ In March 2024, Katie was declared bankrupt a second time during a short hearing at London's Rolls Building, Insolvency and Companies Court. At the hearing, it was heard that Katie owed £761,994.05 to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), and that she had not responded in regards to the debt. Earlier this year, Katie revealed she has been discharged from her bankruptcies as she celebrated: "I'm so happy. I can finally move on and leave these bankruptcies behind me, focusing only on the positive. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this process."

Katie Price urges daughter Princess to sign up for Love Island

Katie Price hinted in her podcast that she wants her daughter, Princess Andre, to sign up for Love Island after split. In a recent episode of her podcast, Katie Price revealed that she has tried to encourage her daughter Princess Andre to sign up for competition show Love Island. However, the model has responded that she doesn't want to be known as a 'Love Islander'. Yesterday it was announced that Princess has split up from her mystery partner after being together for two years. The 17-year-old usually kept the relationship out of the spotlight, but would occasionally upload posts to social media about her partner. ‌ It has been reported that the break up has been "tough" for the young model, after the former couple were said to have separated after they "grew apart", reports the Mirror. ‌ Her mother Katie has since hinted about the idea of Princess, the youngest of her two children with Peter Andre, looking for love on TV in the future. Speaking with her sister Sophie Price on the Katie Price Show podcast, the 47-year-old shared that she has discussed the idea with her daughter, with Katie saying that she has encouraged Princess to take part in the ITV2 dating show. ‌ On the latest episode of her podcast, which was released on Thursday, Katie said: "Love Island starts soon. I keep saying to Princess 'Why don't you do Love Island?'" However, it seems that Princess doesn't fully agree with the former glamour model's idea. Talking to her sister, Katie shared that her daughter doesn't want to be known as a contestant from Love Island. After sharing that she mentioned the idea of taking part in a TV dating show to Princess, Princess was said to reply: "No... because otherwise I'll be known as a Love Islander." ‌ To which Katie said: "No, you won't. Everyone knows you anyway." Katie's podcast, and the hint of Princess taking part in TV dating shows, was released prior to the news that Princess had separated from her partner. ‌ A source has told the Sun that there are "no hard feelings" between the former couple. The source said: "She always kept the romance out the public eye and it will be the same with her split. They just grew apart - they were each other's first love so it has been tough but there are no hard feelings." "He's still on good terms with both Katie and Peter," the source went on to add. ‌ They also mentioned that Princess is now focusing on her career and suggested that she isn't looking for a relationship. Katie's comments on her podcast come amid rising speculation over the line-up for this year's series of Love Island. ITV teased the release date of the show - June 9 - just days ago through an Instagram post. The post featured a picture of the date on a piece of paper attached to a heart floating in a pool. The accompanying caption said: "Mark your calendar, you're invited to this year's hottest meeting."

Katie Price has reflected on competing to represent the UK amid the 20th anniversary of her performance. The Former Eurovision Song Contest hopeful and reality star was runner-up in the Making Your Mind Up selection contest. The 46-year-old former glamour model was among the five finalists on the BBC show in 2005, which was used to decide who would represent the UK at Eurovision in Ukraine that year. She ended up placing second behind Javine Hylton. Hylton went on to perform her song Touch My Fire in the international competition. Podcast host Katie, who was pregnant with her son Junior Andre at the time, competed in Making Your Mind Up with the song Not Just Anybody. Her performance is said to have earned her a combined score of 101 points, which wasn't enough to beat Javine, who had instead amassed 116 points, the Mirror reports. She's reflected on the experience ahead of watching the final of this year's Eurovision in Switzerland on Saturday. She spoke about the contest on the latest episode of her podcast, the Katie Price Show, which was released on Thursday alongside the semi-finals airing. Katie told her sister Sophie Price: "For years and years, I always remember us always watching Eurovision and then I was up to do it." She added that she will livestream herself watching the final with her partner JJ Slater and some pals. Katie added: "I can't wait for the Eurovision. I haven't got any memories of Eurovision apart from when I was gonna represent the UK [in 2005] and they weren't good memories." Sophie then asked her: "What was your song?" Singing part of the song that she had competed with, Katie replied: "I'm not just anybody ..." Her sister reacted: "Oh god, that song!" Katie continued by saying that although she "can sing," she "couldn't" sing Not Just Anybody back then or now. She said: "The thing is I couldn't even sing the song then and I couldn't sing it now, yet I can sing. But I still can't sing that song. "I hated it! The whole b***s*** about 'oh you're gonna get a Sony album but you have to do this song' and then they found out I was pregnant and then I lost by one per cent." Katie went on to share that she "regrets" taking part in Making Your Mind Up two decades ago. She said on the newly-released episode: "It's just all political stuff, as usual - but anyway, that's always a regret of mine doing that." The I'm A Celebrity winner added in the discussion about the contest: "If there's any regret of any job, it was me doing Eurovision in the pink rubber catsuit being seven months pregnant. Trying to hide the fact that I was pregnant." The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 final will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 8pm on Saturday night. The Katie Price Show is available on podcast platforms.
