July 18 (UPI) -- Girl group Katseye is teaming up with Mattel's Monster High, beginning with a new version of "Fright Song," the Monster High theme song. A music video features Katseye members Sophia, Lara, Megan, Yoonchae and Manon dressed as mythical creatures from their different cultures. Megan portrays the Huli Jing, a fox spirit, while Lara is the shapeshifter Rakshasa, Daniela portrays a werewolf and Sophia plays the vampire known as Manananggal. Yoonchae portrays Jangsanbeom, or the white tiger, while Manon represents a sea monster. They perform in various high school hallways and by lockers. The girls of Katseye are the newest ghoul kids! On Friday, Monster High released a new version of its dolls' theme 'Fright Song,' reimagined and performed by Katseye. For the music video, each member portrayed a monster inspired by their cultural background: Megan became the Huli Jing, a shape-shifting fox spirit from Chinese mythology; Lara embodied a Rakshasa, a supernatural being from Hindu lore; Yoonchae portrayed the Jangsan Beom, a white, tiger-like creature from Korean folklore; Sophia became the Manananggal, a Filipino monster that detaches its upper torso from its lower body; Manon took on the role of a sea monster; and Daniela transformed into a werewolf. 'Monster High, Monster, Monster High/Freaky, chic 'n' fly, Monster High,' the group sings in the chorus. 'Where student bodies lie.' Each member gets their solo lines, embodying each of their monsters with Manon singing from under water, Megan making school supplies levitate, and Megan posting in front of a full moon. 'be yourself, be unique, be a monster,' the girls wrote on Instagram, sharing behind-the-scenes looks from the video. To celebrate the partnership, each of the girls received personalized dolls modeled after the Monster High characters they portray in 'Fright Song.' Megan and Sophia also shared throwback photos of themselves as young girls unwrapping Monster High doll gifts and posing in character costumes, highlighting the full-circle moment of. thecollab. 'My Monster High doll has a bindi,' says Lara in a behind-the-scenes video of the group receiving their dolls. 'I wish I had a doll with a bindi growing up. I loved Monster High when I was little. I had all of the dolls.' The new collaboration comes just a week after the group sold out their first-ever tour, the Beautiful Chaos run, which is set for this November and December. The group will stop in cities such as Minneapolis, Toronto, Boston, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Los Angeles. 'It's us stepping into our maturity,' Lara told Rolling Stone last month. 'I feel like this era, we have been a lot more authentically ourselves. I don't have to put on a facade of any kind when talking to anyone anymore. I think that's a beautiful thing, and you can see that more within the album. You see more of our fire.' For concerts with tickets still available, most fall between $200 and $400. She is the girl group's leader and often acts as a spokesperson for talk shows and events. Sophia made K-pop history as the first Filipina to sign with HYBE, a major South Korean entertainment company. Manon was born in Switzerland in 2002 and resides there now. Her mother is Swiss, and her father is Ghanaian. She is the oldest member of Katseye, which would typically make her the leader. Instead, Manon is the girl group's center and visual, designating her as the face of the group. Daniela was born in Atlanta in 2004 but now calls Los Angeles home. Her mother is Cuban, and her father is Venezuelan. She is the group's lead dancer and the team member with the most TV and music video appearances. Lara was born in Stamford in 2005 and now splits her time between Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York. Her mother is Indian, and her father is Sri Lankan. Lara is the girl group's lead vocalist. Megan was born in Honolulu in 2006, where she still resides. Her mother is Singaporean-Chinese, and her father is American-Swedish. She is a secondary dancer and vocalist for the group, and brings the most modelling experience to the group. She also voiced a character in the video game The Elder Scrolls: Legends. She is the only fully Korean member of the girl group and is their Maknae, a title reserved for the youngest member of a Kpop group. Who is opening for Katseye's tour? As of writing, no openers have been announced for the Beautiful Chaos work tour. As K-pop artists don't typically have openers for their shows, we aren't expecting Katseye to add any openers to the tour. Will there be international tour dates? Before the Beautiful Chaos tour starts, Katseye will be making appearances for the Summer Sonic festival in Japan on August 16 and 18. The tour will also see the girl group in Toronto on November 18 and Mexico City on December 16.
