Imran Khan's ex-wife Avantika Malik reveals what helped her let go of resentment, anger post divorce: ‘How much he…'
Imran Khan began his career as an actor in 2008 with Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, backed by his uncle Aamir Khan. He won hearts as the ultimate lover boy! But his journey as a real-life boyfriend began much before when he was 19. After dating for 9 long years, Imran got married to his then girlfriend Avantika Malik. In 2014 the couple welcomed their daughter Imara into the world. Theirs looked like a happily ever after, until they separated in 2019. Avantika left Imran's house along with their daughter, and the exes are now co-parenting Imara. Well, Avantika has now revealed what helped her let go of the resentment that she had, built up inside her. A post shared by Avantika Malik (@avantikamalik18) In a recent chat with Nayandeep Rakshit, Avantika Malik opened up about her ex-husband Imran Khan as a father to their daughter Imara. She shared, 'I have utmost respect for the father that he is and utmost respect for how involved and invested he is in Imara and how much he loves her and how he expresses his love for her. Absolutely. I think that a lot of being able to let go of my own issues and anger and resentment, whatever I may have been carrying vis-à-vis our relationship, I think I could let go for this reason. So I was like, this is the most important thing. If you can maintain this and you can be a wonderful father then that's all that mattered, at that point.' A post shared by Imran Khan (@imrankhan) When asked if they can be friends, Avantika replied, 'I would hope, I would hope. But we don't… not really. It's civil, it's cordial. But friends is a very strong term. We're not there yet. Maybe with time.' On the work front, Imran has been away from the silver screen since his last release Katti Batti, opposite Kangana Ranaut. According to buzz, he is all set to make his acting comeback with a project titled Adhure Hum Adhure Tum. This film will reportedly arrive on a digital platform.

Aamir Khan rejected idea of Imran's Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na sequel? Director says, ‘he told me never refer to this movie'
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's nephew, Imran Khan, made his grand debut in Bollywood with the coming-of-age romantic comedy Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. The film became a commercial success and is still loved by many. Fans have been asking for a sequel for years. However, the film's director, Abbas Tyrewala, in a recent conversation with Imran Khan on the YouTube channel Aamir Khan Talkies, revealed how Aamir rejected the idea of a sequel. (Also Read: Aamir Khan says Hindi films are struggling as 'they've forgotten their roots': South films are mass, very hard-hitting) Imran spoke about how people often come up to him and grab him by the shirt, demanding to know about the film's sequel. In response, Abbas said, 'That's my Instagram DM every day. Very shortly after the film's release, I went to Aamir with an idea for the sequel — at some point, Jai and Aditi (Imran and Genelia D'Souza's characters in the film) would fight. I told him, 'Let's start the sequel at the point when Jai and Aditi are on the verge of separation. Jai will bump into Meghna (Jai's former love interest in the film) at a party and he is drunk.'' Revealing Aamir's reaction, Abbas said, 'Aamir told me, 'Never refer to this movie again. I don't want to hear anything about the sequel if that's the direction you're going in.'' Abbas admitted that he himself lacked the enthusiasm to make a sequel to the beloved film. 'I don't know how to reboot fairytales. I haven't seen them working well.' Imran and Abbas then spoke about a reunion of the Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na gang over coffee but rejected the idea of making a sequel. The film follows the lives of two best friends, Jai and Aditi, who deny having romantic feelings for each other, only to realise their love once they begin dating other people. Apart from Imran, the film also featured Genelia D'Souza, with Prateik Babbar, Manjari Fadnis, and Ayaz Khan in key roles. The film earned ₹82.10 crore worldwide, proving to be a superhit. Imran went MIA after the failure of his last film, Katti Batti, in 2015. However, in 2023, he updated his fans about his Bollywood comeback and wrote on Threads, 'To whom it may concern; I hear you. And I'm working on it. Thank you for being so patient with me.'

The 42-year-old has shared in interviews that he felt "broken inside" and had lost enthusiasm for his work, which led him to take a break. The birth of his daughter Imara in 2014 played a big role in this decision, as he wanted to grow and heal for her sake. During this time, he turned to therapy and prioritised his mental health over his film career.
