It's all about poke at this weekend's Kauai Poke Fest

KAUAI COUNTY (KHON2) — This weekend, it's all about poke as the Kaua'i Poke Fest returns to Kōloa Landing Resort, offering two days of culinary celebration, Hawaiian culture, and community support. Honolulu Zoo has got 'The Wildest Show' The festivities begin Friday, June 13, with the Poke Masters' Table, an intimate five-course dinner featuring exclusive dishes by renowned chefs, including James Beard Award winner Sam Choy. Tickets for the dining experience are $150 per guest, or $250 for a combo ticket that includes VIP access to Saturday's main event. Friday's Poke Masters' Table menu includes: First Course – Nihoa ahi tartar salad with tender greens and creamy oriental dressing, finished with a spicy unagi drizzle (Chef Sam Choy) Second Course – Wok-fried Kaua'i shrimp with Thai Hamakua Ali'i mushroom curry, local mango and pineapple chutney (Chef Don Gusman) Third Course – Hawaiian kampachi with roof lemon butter, abalone, and kyurizuke (Chef Sheldon Simeon) Fourth Course – Creekstone Farms Chateaubriand with Parisienne potatoes, local vegetables, red wine, and béarnaise sauces (Chef Ronnie Rainwater) Fifth Course – Local 'uala (sweet potato) cheesecake topped with haupia sauce and a Big Island macadamia nut crust (Chefs Wendy Leanio and Ryan Alicante)Saturday, June 14, brings the main event: the Kaua'i Poke Fest competition.
