Targeted killing plot by Arsh Dalla foiled, two arrested: Punjab Police
The State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Punjab Police, has claimed to have foiled a targeted killing plot allegedly masterminded by Canada-based designated terrorist Arsh Dalla. Acting on intelligence, the SSOC apprehended two key operatives Kawaljit Singh, a resident of Dharamkot, and Navdeep Singh, alias Hani, a resident of Badduwal. According to initial investigations, the duo were operating under the directions of Dalla and had been tasked with eliminating rival gang members and extortion targets. 'This timely and intelligence-driven operation has helped dismantle a targeted killing module and has averted a major threat to public safety,' a senior SSOC official said. During the operation, police recovered one Zigana .30 bore pistol along with nine live cartridges from the possession of the accused. An FIR has been registered at the police station in SSOC, Mohali, under relevant sections of the law. Further investigations are underway to identify both forward and backward linkages of the module and unravel the full extent of the conspiracy. Reaffirming its stance, Punjab Police DGP posted on X at the official handle @PunjabPoliceInd, 'we remain committed to eliminating organized crime and ensuring peace, safety, and harmony across the state'.

He added that the operation was a result of timely and intelligence-led efforts, which successfully dismantled a targeted killing module and averted a significant threat to public safety. Arshdeep Singh, alias Arsh Dalla, is a proclaimed offender in India, wanted in connection with more than 50 cases involving murder, attempted murder, extortion, and various terrorist activities, including terror financing. A Red Corner Notice was issued against him in May 2022, and he was officially designated as an individual terrorist by New Delhi in 2023. Dalla, a designated terrorist based in Canada, is considered one of the most wanted operatives involved in cross-border organised crime and terror activities. He is linked with the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) and is accused of masterminding multiple targeted killings, extortion cases, and terror financing operations in Punjab. The investigative agencies have been tracking his international network, which reportedly operates through local modules in India using digital communication channels. In May-Day function at RCF Kapurthala, employees criticize outsourcing policy
On the occasion of International Labor Day , a tribute meeting was organized today by the RCF Employees Union at the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. Flag hoisting ceremony was carried out by retired senior employees of RCF. Addressing the employees, Amrik Singh , President of the RCF Employees Union and National Joint Secretary of the National Movement for Old Pension Scheme (NMOPS), expressed particular concern over the rapidly increasing trend of outsourcing within the RCF premises. Comrade Kawaljit Singh , from All India Central Council of Trade Unions (AICCTU), Chandigarh, strongly criticized the current government's "pro-corporate policies", which, he argued, were continuously weakening the interests of the working class. He also vehemently condemned the indiscriminate privatization of public sector undertakings, calling it against the national interest. Kawaljit called for vigilance against divisive forces that seek to divide society in the name of religion and caste, and asserted that the unity of the working class was the most powerful weapon to face any challenge. The officials of OBC, SC & ST, IRTSA, and Engineer Associations also criticized the "increasing level of outsourcing".
