1 dead, 3 injured after pickup truck strikes multiple dirt bikes in Voluntown
VOLUNTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — A person is dead and three people are injured after a pickup truck struck three dirt bikes in Voluntown Monday, state police said.
The crash happened around 7:33 p.m. in the area of Ekonk Hill Road on Route 49, state police said.

According to authorities, a grey 2011 Ford was traveling southbound on Route 49 when it collided with the three dirt bikes. A blue Yamaha, a black Talaria TL4000, and a green Kawasaki KX250 were all struck by the Ford. A second Kawasaki was able to avoid being struck.
The Ford F150 collided with the dirt bikes in the southbound lane and continued southboundbefore coming to a final rest, state police said.
Michael Alan Davis, 26, of Norwich, was taken to William W. Backus Hospital, where he died due to his injuries.
One of the motorists sustained serious injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital via Life Star, state police said.
Two others were taken to the hospital with injuries, but the extent is not known.
