Three charged for retail fraud in Fort Gratiot, traced by vehicle that fled the scene

FORT GRATIOT — The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office arrested three people for organized retail fraud on Feb. 2. Deputies had received word of retail theft at Dunham's in Fort Gratiot around 3:30 p.m. in which three suspects fled the store with multiple items and drove away in a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. The suspects were later identified as 58-year-old Vince Price, 57-year-old Yolanda Price and 36-year-old Keisha Price. Minutes after the theft, deputies located the car travelling west on Keewahdin Road. Deputies attempted a traffic stop and the driver, later confirmed to be Vincent Price, appeared to be pulling over. As deputies exited the vehicle, however, the Escalade drove off. Deputies pursued the car for several miles before it came to a stop at a gas station on Wadham's road. All three suspects were arrested without incident. FORT GRATIOT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - Three people have been arraigned on charges originating from a retail fraud and subsequent fleeing incident on interstate highways in St. Clair County. The theft and fleeing incident began about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Dunham's Sports store at Birchwood Mall in Fort Gratiot Township, according to a report from St. Clair County Sheriff's Office. That's when a call to Central Dispatch related that three suspects had fled the store in a gold 2007 Cadillac Escalade. As deputies began to exit their vehicles, the driver of the Escalade sped off. The purusit went southbound on North Road to Wadhams Road and then onto eastbound Interstate 69. From there, the vehicle continued onto westbound Interstate 94, exiting the freeway and pulling into the Love's gas station at Washan Road. "Deputies were able to detain all three occupants without incident," the report said. "In the vehicle, they discovered a large number of items with tags on them, as well as a cutting device and a magnetic device commonly used to remove merchandise tags."
