Man accused in Slidell vehicle theft arrested after jumping into Lake Pontchartrain: STPSO

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — An Arabi man accused of stealing a vehicle in the Slidell area was arrested after he allegedly tried to escape deputies by jumping into Lake Pontchartrain on Monday, April 14. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office reported that deputies responded to a report of a vehicle being stolen from a North Summerfield Loop driveway on Monday morning. According to the sheriff's office, that's when 36-year-old Keith Hebert jumped off the Twin Spans and into the lake.
