PETALING JAYA : A track switch malfunction on the Kelana Jaya LRT line has caused delays in service between the Pasar Seni and Bank Rakyat-Bangsar stations towards Putra Heights.
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd said in a statement that the malfunction was reported at about 5.30am.
'As a safety measure, trains travelling from Pasar Seni to Bangsar en route to Putra Heights are being manually operated, resulting in slower service between the two stations,' it said.
Rapid Rail also said that its engineering team was on site, carrying out repair works to restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
'To ensure passenger safety and smooth movement, auxiliary police and station staff have been deployed to station platforms to assist commuters. Regular announcements are also being made at stations regarding train schedules,' it said.
Passengers are advised to follow Rapid KL's social media platforms for updates and information.
'We apologise for the inconvenience caused and greatly appreciate the patience and cooperation of all passengers,' Rapid Rail said.
