Several events planned for Pride Month in Evansville
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Pride Month, a global celebration of LGBTQ+ people, starts this week.
Several events are planned in Evansville to kick off the month of celebrations.
On Thursday, EVPL North Park will host author Kelley Coures. He will discuss more than a century of local LGBTQ+ history as featured in his book, 'Out in Evansville: An LGBTQ+ History of River City.'
Pride First Friday will be held in Haynie's Corner. The night will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with Magician Collin Culiver. Officials say there will be more than 60 local vendors and food trucks.
On Saturday, the annual River City Pride Parade and Festival returns to downtown Evansville on Main Street. The parade will start at noon, with the festival to follow.
