Glenn County presents Farmers and Ranchers programs 101
Glenn County partners is presenting Programs 101 to area farmers and ranchers to implement new management practices.
The agriculture community is invited to attend the event on Thursday, March 6 from 9-11:30 a.m., at the Elks Lodge in Willows, 150 S. Shasta St.
Focus of the event will be the opportunity to learn about local, state and federal funding opportunities to implement new management practices.
The Resource Conservation District is bringing together Glenn County's Department of Ag., Air Pollution Control District, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, USDA Farm Service Agency, UC Cooperative Extension-Glenn County, and more to help ranchers and farmers learn about cost-share funding opportunities and loan options.
Event programs will include – CDFA Healthy Soils Program, SWEEP, Pollinator Habitat, AMMP; Carl Moyer and FARMER Programs; Farm Bill Programs; CAFF-SIGMA Outreach and Technical Assistance, and more, in an effort to break the programs down so farmers and ranchers may see what is available, talk one-on-one to create a plan (or not), and explore the future and options.
