Bettendorf man faces charges in connection with 2024 Davenport shooting

A 25-year-old Bettendorf man was in custody Saturday after Davenport Police say he was involved in a 2024 Davenport shooting that injured two people, according to Scott County Court documents. Kenneth Dwyer III faces a felony charge of intimidation with a dangerous weapon – injure/provoke feat and two felony charges of willful injury – causing bodily injury, according to Scott County Court arrest affidavits. Brady Street gunfire injures two On Sept. 14, 2024, Davenport Police say in affidavits that Dwyer drove a vehicle that followed another vehicle to the 1400 block of North Brady Street, Davenport, affidavits show. Affidavits say Dwyer drove 'in a manner to overtake the victim vehicle from the passenger side,' An occupant of the suspect vehicle 'then fired at least two rounds from a firearm into the victim vehicle, striking two of the three occupants.' In affidavits, officers say Dwyer then drove the suspect vehicle from the area. One of the victims suffered a gunshot wound to the right arm, and another victim suffered a gunshot wound to the left wrist. Affidavits say both victims required medical treatment. Dwyer's actions 'aided and abetted the shooting of the two victims,' according to arrest affidavits,. Dwyer, who was arrested on a warrant, was being held on a cash-only $25,000 bond in Scott County Jail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 30 in Scott County Court.
