Kochi city corporation suspends official arrested for accepting bribe
Kochi: The city corporation has suspended Vyttila zonal office building inspector

, who was recently arrested for accepting
bribe
. Mayor M Anilkumar informed that the official was suspended pending investigation under Section 15(6) of the
Kerala Municipality Act
and Rule 8 of the Kerala Municipality Officers' Control and Rules, 2011.

The mayor stated that it was found that a very serious offence was committed and the local body has decided to report to the LSGD principal director to take strict disciplinary action under the Kerala Service (Classification and Control) Rules, 1960.
Swapna was arrested by VACB officials while receiving a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a builder who applied to get door numbers issued to his new apartments.
