Wizard of Oz ballet featuring the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra
SHREVEPORT, LA. (KTAL/KMSS) — Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet announces its next performance, The Wizard of Oz, which features the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra performing Kermit Poling's original score.
Mark your calendar for April 5 for new choreography by Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet (SMB) artistic director Kathryn Drake McDowell.
According to its website, SMB is a nonprofit organization founded in 1973 by a group of local citizens who wanted to give dancers a performing outlet and bring classical ballet to the Shreveport-Bossier community.
Joining the SMB Company Dancers on stage are minor cast dancers from studios in the Shreveport/Bossier area and our Chance to Dance dancers from Bethune Oak Park!
The family-friendly event is scheduled for Saturday, April 5, from 2:30 p.m. until 5 p.m.
