‘I want to go to IISc Bangalore… feel like IIT would not be the right fit for me': AIR 5 Ujjwal Kesari
Every few hours, in the middle of his study marathons, 17-year-old Ujjwal Kesari from South Delhi allowed himself a reward — one short episode of Doraemon. 'I love watching animated films. I love watching Doraemon,' he said. 'But since I couldn't get distracted, I used to skip watching it so that I could study and focus on my goal. But when I took short breaks in between, I used to watch it.' That clarity and self-control helped Kesari secure the fifth position in the JEE Advanced 2025 Common Rank List released Monday, placing him among the top 10 in one of India's most competitive entrance exams. His score — 324 marks out of 360 — opens doors to the most coveted courses in the country: Computer Science at both IIT-Bombay and IIT-Delhi, he said. But Kesari has chosen to walk a different path. 'I want to go to IISc Bangalore,' he said. 'I made this decision because I want to go forward and pursue research, and I feel like IIT would not be the right fit for me. It is known for the best packages, but that is not what I am looking for.' Kesari's decision didn't come on a whim. He had made up his mind years ago. 'Since Class 8, I had decided that I would take the science stream in Class 11,' he said. 'My love for physics and maths made me passionate about giving the JEE examination.' What excites him most now is quantum physics, a field he hopes to pursue seriously in the coming years. 'I aim to pursue research in the quantum physics area as I think it is very fascinating and has a promising future,' he said. Kesari's preparation strategy was marked by balance and consistency. 'I always used to give equal time to all my main subjects. Even my weaknesses and strengths,' he said. 'I would not focus on taking too many breaks. I would keep the flow and consistency when I sat down to study.' The youngest of two siblings, Kesari lives with his family. 'My sister is pursuing the arts stream, and I have moved towards sciences,' he said. His father works in a private job, and his mother is a homemaker. For future aspirants, Kesari offered one practical piece of advice, a habit he strictly followed through his years of preparation: 'Stay away from the phone. Screen time is the biggest distraction these days, and it is very important to minimise it.'

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the movie wrapped its box office journey on a decent note. Kesari Chapter 2 winds up global theatrical run at Rs 142 crore Backed by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions, Kesari Chapter 2 garnered positive reception among the audience, which helped it in recording an encouraging run at the box office. Released on April 18th, the movie is ending its global box office journey at a figure of Rs 142 crore gross. Of this, Rs 108.50 crore (Rs 90.25 crore net) came from the Indian markets while the international territories contributed about USD 3.9 million, which is Rs 33.50 crore gross as per Indian currency. The movie is wrapping its worldwide cume with an average verdict. Though the movie couldn't end the dearth of a Clean Hit movie for Akshay Kumar, it definitely turned out to be a relief, as his last few movies were box office duds. Kesari Chapter 2 remains behind its prequel's business The spiritual sequel to 2019 released Kesari is expected to be the talk of the town during its OTT release. The movie received a favourable response in the urban markets while the masses remained reluctant due to its heavy-on-content approach. When compared to its prequel, the Karan Singh Tyagi directorial remained far behind. For the unversed, Kesari (2019) had collected a solid Rs 151 crore net in India alone while its worldwide gross was Rs 200 crore. Nevertheless, the success of Kesari Chapter 2 brought positivity to the actor, who was going through a rough patch. Akshay Kumar will be next seen in Housefull 5, which is expected to bring big box office numbers and end the superstar's dearth of clean Hit movies. Suniel Shetty comes out swinging over alleged ‘smear campaign' targeting son Ahan ahead of Border 2 release
In a candid and emotionally charged interview, Bollywood veteran Suniel Shetty has spoken out against what he describes as a 'deliberate and malicious' smear campaign targeting his son, actor Ahan Shetty. The younger Shetty, who is currently working on Border 2 - a sequel to the iconic 1997 war film in which Suniel played a defining role - is allegedly facing industry backlash for prioritising the patriotic project over other film offers. Speaking to Zoom Entertainment, Suniel Shetty warned that he would not stay silent if the negativity continues, and made it clear that he would expose the individuals responsible for sabotaging Ahan's career. 'If this continues, I will hold a press conference and expose each and every person's name. Jiski dhajjiyan udani hain, uda dunga. That child's obsession is Border,' he declared. According to Shetty, Ahan had several film offers on the table but chose Border 2 due to its emotional and national significance. Suniel revealed that he advised his son to treat the film as if it were his final role - so lasting and iconic is the legacy of the original Border, which continues to be revisited on national holidays like Independence Day and Republic Day. 'He missed out on a lot because of the ego of others. He was thrown out of those films, and he was blamed for it in the press. They said that he has a 10-person entourage; people paid lots of money to get negative articles written about him,' said Suniel. What particularly angers Shetty is the suggestion that Ahan maintains a large entourage - something he attributes to jealousy from those upset over the younger actor's decision to prioritise Border 2. Suniel suggested that the negativity was orchestrated to damage Ahan's image and pave the way for competing projects. Dismissing any claims of entitlement or nepotism, Suniel added, 'I still pay for my own food. I spend my own money to this day, not the producer's. And that's how Ahan has been raised. Do you think I don't have connections? Do you think I can't do the same thing?' Border 2 was announced on June 13, 2024. It was revealed that Sunny Deol will be returning in the sequel. The film will be helmed by Kesari director Anurag Singh, and will also feature Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, and Kapil Sharma, in the lead roles. The film is scheduled to release on Republic Day 2026.
