Three-star 2026 WR to return to Washington on an official visit
Since arriving at Washington, wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings has made it clear that one of his top priorities is three-star wide receiver Rico Blassingame. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound product of Tolleson Union High School, who is originally from Washington, has become one of the top players in Arizona, and made his way onto Cummings' radar early. During his time with the Arizona Wildcats, Cummings became the first Power 4 coach to offer him a scholarship in May of 2023, with Kalen DeBoer's staff at Washington doing the same less than a week later. Blassingame returned to his home state for an unofficial visit to Montlake over the weekend and appeared very impressed with what Jedd Fisch's coaching staff had to offer, adding that he'll return for an official visit. Ranked as the No. 5 player in Arizona and No. 632 overall prospect by the 247Sports Composite, Blassingame is a long, promising athlete with the desired speed and athleticism to keep defenses honest in Fisch's offense. 'Judging by his film, teams may be more excited by him than the recruiting rankings indicate,' Huskies Wire's Ben Glassmire said. 'He is a very smooth mover at his listed 6-foot-3 size and was productive even as a sophomore. He probably won't be a straight-line burner, but his body control is more than enough to make up for it.' Washington should be considered one of the front runners to secure his commitment at this time, but his offer list continues to grow. Blassingame holds 20 scholarship offers from all over the country, including Indiana, North Carolina, Texas A&M, and Wisconsin.
