EY announces Martin Fiore as Americas Vice Chair
NEW YORK, April 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) announces the appointment of Martin Fiore as Americas Vice Chair – Tax, effective July 1, 2025. Fiore succeeds Kevin Flynn, who has led the business since 2022 and is retiring at the end of the fiscal year. Fiore had previously served as EY Americas Deputy Vice Chair – Tax. 'Martin's innovative approach to issues facing our industry and operational excellence within Tax makes him an ideal candidate for this vital role,' Kevin Flynn said. 'He maintains a vigilant watch on market trends to inform our clients about landscape changes and opportunities on how to best navigate them.' Fiore is based in New York and will oversee tax strategy and all client services, leading a group of more than 18,000 people across Canada; the United States; North, Central and South America; Israel; and the Caribbean. Fiore will become a member of the US Management Committee, the Americas Operating Executive and the Global Practice Group and will lead the Tax practice in a time of pivotal policy reform. In his previous roles, including US-East Region Tax Managing Partner and EY Americas Tax Talent Leader, Fiore has led EY US and clients through geopolitical changes and technological shifts, including Artificial Intelligence, affecting tax. A 31-year veteran of EY US, he also spent seven years on the Americas Inclusiveness Advisory Council and was executive sponsor of the technology committee that first introduced EY to intelligent automation. "Tron: Ares" Trailer Is Here
Yara Sameh 'Tron' is back more than 40 years after the original sci-fi movie hit theaters. Disney has released the official trailer for 'Tron: Ares,' the third film in the 'Tron' franchise after the 1982 original and the 2010 sequel Tron: Legacy.' Jared Leto leads the film, which includes original star Jeff Bridges back as Kevin Flynn. Leto plays Ares, one of the programs from the digital universe who is tasked to enter the real world. The cast also includes Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, and Gillian Anderson. Notably, Peters plays Julian Dillinger, who shares a last name with David Warner's Ed Dillinger, the villain from the first film. The trailer gives the viewers a first look at the clash of our reality with the video game world of Tron. Opening with a high-speed chase between the police and some rogue programs, cop cars are no match for a light cycle, and one is sliced clean in half once the bike's iconic light wall is activated. Although Bridges' Kevin Flynn is never seen, his voice can be heard at the end of the trailer. As Leto's Ares is rendered into existence, Flynn tells him, 'Ready? Cause there's no going back.' 'It's really unbelievable to think we made the original in 1982,' Bridges said on stage when 'Tron: Ares' was unveiled during the 2024 D23 Expo. 'It's amazing — we never thought we would have this legacy that's continued on all these years.' It was also revealed at D23 that Nine Inch Nails, the industrial rock and electronica band founded by Trent Reznor and joined in 2016 by frequent collaborator Atticus Ross, are scoring the film. Reznor and Ross have won Oscars for their scores for 2010's 'The Social Network' and 2020's 'Soul.' They also won Grammys for their soundtracks to 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' and 'Soul.' DIA's $15M plan for Peña Boulevard
The public's gateway to Denver International Airport faces an existential crisis. The big picture: DIA officials are seeking a $15 million contract to study potential redevelopment of Peña Boulevard, a roughly 11-mile roadway connecting Colorado's biggest economic driver to the city, state and region. Driving the news: A Denver City Council committee on Wednesday will consider sending the contract to the full council after postponing a decision earlier this month. Why it matters: Pushback from council and the public on the contract could force DIA officials to reconsider their strategy for how to safely and efficiently get people to and from a travel hub that expects its annual passenger traffic to reach 100 million by 2027. By the numbers: Daily traffic on Peña Boulevard increased 80% between 1995 and 2023, city documents show. Traffic isn't solely travelers: More than 40,000 airport employees commute to and from DIA, while residents in Aurora and Denver use the boulevard daily. Context: The proposed five-year contract with Lakewood-based Peak Consulting Group would lead a National Environmental Policy Act study to evaluate next steps for Peña Boulevard. Creating a carpool or toll lane, adding a bus-only lane or building a frontage road for local traffic are among potential options in a master plan released last year, per Denverite. Yes, but: Some council members and transit advocates say the airport isn't adequately considering alternatives, including improving public transit to reduce car use and lower emissions. An open letter signed by five advocacy organizations this month urged city council to vote no on the contract. At least one council members said they'd received hundreds of resident messages opposing the $15 million study plan. What they're saying: "This is not the place to wage a war on cars," Councilmember Kevin Flynn said in support of the contract during the March 5 committee meeting. DIA CEO Phil Washington told council members during the same meeting the study is not starting with a "predetermined" outcome, adding it could reveal alternatives. Between the lines: DIA chose Peak Consulting Group through a bidding process that started last year, and it intends to pay for the $15 million contract from its own enterprise fund and federal transportation grants, according to city documents.

Following the success of last year's inaugural Florida Man Games in downtown St. Augustine, organizers have moved Saturday's event a few miles away to the St. Johns County Fairgrounds, where they expect to have room for more spectators and tailgating. The games, which start a 9 a.m. and last all day, will be hosted by Florida comedians Josh Wicks Robinson and Kevin Flynn. Poking fun at the state's reputation for bizarre stories, last year's teams competed in Florida-themed events like the Evading Arrest Obstacle Course and Beer Belly Sumo Wrestling. New events added this year include Hurricane Party Prep: Grocery Aisle Brawl and Human Beer Pong. Ten teams from around the state, from Fort Myers to Pensacola, will compete. Last year's winner, team Hanky Spanky from St. Augustine, is returning to defend their snakeskin championship belt. Also competing this year is an all-female team called the Ball Busters. Besides watching the events, guests will have a chance to get up to Florida Man shenanigans themselves. They will be able to interact with alligators from Gatorland and ride a mechanical alligator. The games will also feature a show by " Midget Wrestling Warriors " and lawnmower racing hosted by hosted by NASCAR driver Jeffery Earnhardt.
