Penn State men's basketball transfer portal tracker
Penn State men's basketball transfer portal tracker Players that enter the NCAA transfer portal are free to explore all of their potential opportunities with new programs. A player may withdraw from the NCAA database at any time to remain with their current school, but the school is not required to hold a scholarship slot for that player. Most players do leave for new schools after entering the transfer portal. Penn State is no stranger to activity in the transfer portal, both in losing players and in adding. The 2025 offseason will be full of activity for Penn State and head coach Mike Rhoades with some work to be done in rebuilding the Nittany Lions roster once again. The NCAA basketball transfer portal window closes on April 22. Here is an updated look at the players who have opted to leave Penn State by way of the transfer portal since the end of the 2024-25 season. Penn State has yet to add to its roster with transfer portal additions at this time, but we will keep track of those additions when necessary. 2025 NCAA Division 1 Men's Hockey regional final schedule
2025 NCAA Division 1 Men's Hockey regional final schedule Penn State is one win away form its first Frozen Four appearance in program history. Here is when the regional finals will be played. Penn State is one win away from playing in the first Frozen Four in program history, but its next hurdle is a UConn program looking to make its first appearance in the NCAA's signature ice hockey event. Penn State and UConn may be considered the underdogs left standing in this year's NCAA men's hockey tournament after an eventful first round. Two of the top four seeds have already been eliminated, including No. 3 overall Maine by Penn State on Friday evening in Allentown, so Penn State and UConn are looking to crash a Frozen Four of blueblood hockey programs in St. Louis. Penn State stormed past Hockey East champion Maine with a 5-1 victory on Friday, advancing the Nittany Lions into Sunday's regional final. UConn took out Quinnipiac with a 4-1 win earlier in the day in the PPL Center in Allentown, where Penn State is serving as a host. Penn State and UConn will drop the puck for a spot in the Frozen Four on Sunday, March 30 at 4:30 p.m. ET. By then, we will know who the winner will face first in St. Louis. The winner of the Allentown regional will pair up with the champion coming out of the Toledo region. That will be determined Saturday afternoon when Cornell faces Boston University. Cornell and Boston each took out their Big Ten opponents in the first round. Cornell edged Big Ten champion and No. 2 seed Micigan State with a 4-3 victory on Thursday evening. Boston obliterated Ohio State with an 8-3 victory that same day. Cornell and Boston will face each other on Saturday, Mar. 29, at 4:00 p.m. ET in the Toledo regional final. In the other half of the bracket, No. 1 seed Boston College got by Bentley with a 3-1 victory in its first round matchup on Friday and Denver dominated Providence with a 5-1 win in Manchester, New Hampshire. Boston College and Denver square off on Sunday evening for a spot in the Frozen Four. In the Fargo region, No. 4 seed Western Michigan needed double overtime to get past Minnesota State in the first round. The Broncos will face UMass after the Minutemen upset Minnesota in a 5-4 overtime victory. Western Michigan and UMass will face each other on Saturday evening. Who will Penn State face in NCAA Hockey Tournament?
Who will Penn State face in NCAA Hockey Tournament? Penn State to face Maine in first round of NCAA men's hockey tournament. Penn State's hockey season will officially continue after the Nittany Lions were placed in the NCAA Division 1 men's hockey tournament on Sunday afternoon. Penn State will face No. 3 seed Maine in the first round of the NCAA tournament Friday night in Allentown for the Allentown regional. Penn State actually clinched a spot in the NCAA tournament on Friday night without having to play a game. That was because Denver and Western Michigan each won their NCHA tournament games to rule out the scenario in which North Dakota could swoop in and steal a bid in the NCAA bracket. Maine (24-7-6) clinched one of the six automatic bids in this year's NCAA tournament by capturing the Hockey East Tournament championship with a victory over UConn on Friday night. The Black Bears were awarded one of the four top seeds by the selection committee. Penn State ended the regular season as one of college hockey's hotter teams but was eliminated in the Big Ten tournament semifinal with an overtime loss to Ohio State. The Buckeyes in turn lost in double overtime to Michigan State in the Big Ten championship game this weekend. Penn State will face Maine on Friday, March 28 at 8:30 p.m. from the PPL Center in Allentown. The winner will advance to face the winner of the UConn-Quinnipiac matchup in the regional final on Sunday. Other Big Ten teams being invited to this year's tournament include No. 2 overall seed Michigan State (Toledo region), Ohio State (Toledo), and Minnesota (Fargo). As many as three Big Ten teams could end up in the Frozen Four. Follow Kevin McGuire on Threads, Bluesky, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Follow Nittany Lions Wire on X, Facebook, and Threads.
