Video: Host escapes on air during Israeli attack on Tehran TV

ALBAWABA - On Monday afternoon, an Israeli airstrike hit the offices of Iran's state-run broadcasting authority (IRIB) in northeast Tehran. The moment of impact was caught live on Khabar TV during a show. A female news anchor was giving an interview when there was a sudden blast that was thought to be caused by an Israeli airstrike. The anchor quickly left her desk, cutting off the show. Reports say that parts of the building fell down, and smoke filled the studio. As fear spread, a man's voice could be heard screaming "Allahu Akbar" in the background. Despite the damage, the station eventually resumed broadcasting, showing that the same anchor was safe and continuing to report from inside the building. Earlier that day, air defenses were set up all over the city after it was reported that an attack was coming at the broadcasting complex. Just hours before the attack, Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, said that Israel would destroy Iran's national television infrastructure. Before the attack, Israeli troops sent out evacuation notices in both Persian and Arabic, telling people who lived near the IRIB headquarters to leave the area. As Israel's military campaign against Iranian targets began its fourth day in a row, things got worse in a way that had never happened before. The Israeli army hasn't made a public statement confirming the attack, and Iranian officials still haven't said how many people were hurt or how much damage was done. In response, Iranian sources issued a warning addressed to Israelis, calling for the immediate evacuation of the main offices of Israeli channels N12 (Channel 12) and Now14 (Channel 14) — signaling potential retaliatory strikes on media institutions within Israel.
