Khadiyah Lewis, 'Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta' star, dies at 44
Khadiyah "KD" Lewis, the reality TV personality best known as a cast member on the VH1 series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, has died. Her brother Jamaal Lewis confirmed the news on Instagram, writing, "Rest In Peace To My Sister Khadiyah Lewis, She Was The Best." Jamaal told the Shade Room that his sister died May 30, at 44. "This has been an extremely emotionally devastating time. All prayers, condolences, and well wishes are sincerely appreciated," he said in a statement. "At this time, we have decided not to discuss anything surrounding her death or why she passed away." Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for Khadiyah Lewis for further information. Sina Bina, who costarred on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta with Lewis, paid tribute to her late castmate in an Instagram story post, writing, "Rest in Peace Queen… condolences to her family and friends. Born in Oklahoma City in 1981, Lewis attended Florida A&M University and Georgia State University, according to LinkedIn. She primarily worked as a tax consultant and real estate broker for the past two Lewis was best known for her time on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. She first appeared on the reality show — a spinoff of Love & Hip Hop: New York that debuted a year after the original series — in its third season, in 2014. Lewis could be seen in six episodes of season 3 as the real estate agent and business consultant of rapper Yung Joc. Lewis then became a more regular cast member on the show when she returned as Yung Joc's girlfriend during season 4, in 2015. She is credited in 13 of the season's 19 episodes, according to IMDb. The 'Love & Hip Hop' community is mourning the loss of one of their own. Khadiyah 'KD' Lewis has died at age 44, with her brother Jay confirming the news to The Shade Room on Thursday. 'This has been an extremely emotionally devastating time. All prayers, condolences, and well wishes are sincerely appreciated,' he told the outlet, adding that Lewis died on May 30. The obituary shares that Lewis leaves behind her parents, Debra Body and David Clark Lewis Jr., sisters Rasheedah Lewis and Nia T. Hill, and brothers Jamaal Lewis and Ahmedu Elijah Inegbedion.
