Israel transforms 30% of Gaza Strip into a buffer zone
Published April 17th, 2025 - 06:08 GMT ALBAWABA - The Israeli army announced on Wednesday that it had transformed about 30 percent of the Gaza Strip into a buffer zone as attacks continued amid no ceasefire in the fight. The New Arab reported that Israel had halted the entry of aid to Gaza since March 2, before resuming its aggressive air and ground attacks on March 18, the day the army in Israel announced the collapse of a two-month ceasefire with Hamas. The health ministry in Gaza said on Wednesday that 16 people, including women and children, were killed in Israeli strikes in Khan Younis. — Khaled Safi 🇵🇸 خالد صافي (@KhaledSafi) April 16, 2025 A spokeswoman for the UN Secretary-General said that approximately 500,000 Palestinians have been displaced since the ceasefire collapsed in March. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz affirmed that "Israel's policy is clear: No humanitarian aid will enter Gaza." He considered blocking aid "one of the main pressure tools" against Hamas, to prevent it from "using it as a tool of pressure on the population." He added in a statement: "No one is currently planning to allow any humanitarian aid into Gaza, and there are no preparations to allow it in." © 2000 - 2025 Al Bawaba (

New Israeli TikTok trend mocks Gaza's starving children
Published March 5th, 2025 - 08:44 GMT ALBAWABA - A new TikTok trend among Israeli citizens recently sparked outrage across social media due to mocking starving children in Gaza, who suffered 15 months of grueling war and halted food aid. Clips from several Israelis jumping on the trend swarmed the Chinese video-sharing platform with the hashtag "#DonateForTheChildrenofGaza." The trend asked Israeli TikTok users to call their parents as a form of a prank and ask them to donate money to Gazan children in need to see their reaction. Several individuals were visibly laughing at the thought of it while their parents seemed more angry about the idea and were charged with hateful comments toward Gazans. The Israeli army has caused them suffering," which was met with hateful swear words and an abrupt end to the call. Before the call ended the father said, "These are not humans in Gaza; they are animals." Another disguised herself as an employee at a non-profit organization asking to donate money for Gaza's children but her mother said no multiple times and was heard laughing through the phone. The government in Israel intends to restart the war in the Gaza Strip within 10 days if Hamas does not continue to release Israeli hostages, local media in Tel Aviv said on Monday.
