Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) welcomed Guo Yanhong, Vice-Minister of the National Public Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, along with an accompanying delegation currently visiting Qatar.
The delegation met with Dr Khalid Mohamed Al-Jalham, HMC's Chief Medical Officer, to discuss matters of mutual interest and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation between HMC and Chinese medical institutions. The meeting underscored a shared commitment to fostering international collaboration in healthcare and public health systems, with both sides expressing interest in knowledge exchange, joint initiatives, and capacity-building partnerships.
The Chinese delegation conducted an introductory tour of the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) and the Qatar Rehabilitation Institute (QRI), both located within Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City. The delegation was briefed on the advanced medical services offered by the two hospitals and received detailed explanations from the medical teams regarding its facilities, clinical departments, and cutting-edge equipment.
Both the ACC and QRI opened in December 2017. The ACC provides a wide range of medical specialties and services, including day surgeries, endoscopy, gastroenterology, outpatient clinics and inpatient units. Patients receive the latest treatment using advanced clinical and surgical practices offered within the same day and in a single dedicated location—enhancing both the efficiency and quality of care, as well as the overall patient experience.
QRI offers specialised medical rehabilitation services for patients of all ages, including those recovering from strokes, spinal cord and brain injuries, amputations, complex fractures, cardiac and pulmonary conditions, as well as neurological and muscular disorders. The institute provides an advanced healing environment equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and technologies, including a gait lab, hydrotherapy pools, interactive simulation rooms, sensory integration therapy, and smart assistive devices, all designed to empower patients throughout their recovery journey and support optimal outcomes.
