Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hosts 'ASEAN Sports Day' in Partnership with ASEAN Embassies

Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized the "ASEAN Sports Day" in collaboration with the embassies of accredited ASEAN countries in the Kingdom. The event was attended by Ambassador Khalid Yousif Al Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with several ambassadors representing ASEAN nations. The initiative highlights Bahrain's commitment to people-to-people diplomacy and fostering cultural and humanitarian connections that support deeper political, economic, and social cooperation. Ambassador Al Jalahma emphasized that organizing ASEAN Sports Day reflects Bahrain's ongoing efforts to promote international cooperation. He noted that sports serve as a powerful tool to bring people together, enhance mutual understanding, and complement official diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving sustainable development goals and promoting regional peace. Relations between Bahrain and ASEAN member states continue to grow across multiple sectors, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing multilateral partnerships and mutual prosperity. H.E. Ambassador Anne Jalandon-Lewis, the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Bahrain, expressed her gratitude to the Kingdom for its dedication to fostering ASEAN relations and supporting the initiatives of diplomatic and consular missions based in Manama. She extended her best wishes for Bahrain's continued growth and prosperity.
