Ar-Rayyan initiative strengthens community bonds

Muscat – Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in North Batinah is promoting religious awareness through an initiative called 'Ar-Rayyan' during Ramadan. The programme aims to create a spiritual atmosphere with events catering to different segments of society.
Khalid al Hosni, Director of Department of Endowments and Religious Affairs in North Batinah, informed that the initiative encourages cooperation between institutions and the community. 'It seeks to promote humanitarian and Islamic values while enhancing social responsibility and voluntary charitable work, emphasising traditional Omani customs.'
Ar-Rayyan includes religious evenings combining education and inspiration, Quran study circles focused on recitation and interpretation, and gatherings to strengthen social bonds.
Hosni noted that Ar-Rayyan aligns with the recently launched 'Rakeezah' programme, which aims to strengthen national identity and encourage a balanced approach to life. It includes intellectual activities targeting different community groups through educational and recreational engagements, while also highlighting the role of mosques and local communities in promoting religious awareness and moral values.
