Russia beat Oman for second straight friendly win
MUSCAT: The Russian beach soccer team registered their second straight win against Oman national beach soccer team by 6-3 in a preparatory match on Wednesday night at the sandy court of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. The opening international friendly between both teams ended in favour of Russia too by 6-5 on Monday night. Oman team players will move ahead in their underway domestic camp until March 10 as it will include two further preparatory games against Belarus which are scheduled on Saturday and Monday. The camp is part of the team's preparations for the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Thailand 2025 which will take place in Pattaya in Thailand from March 20 to 30, 2025. In the second friendly encounter between Oman and Russia, head coach of Oman team Talib Hilal began the game with a line-up similar to the last game featuring goalkeeper Younis al Owaisi, Khalid al Oraimi, Mundhir al Oraimi, Yahya al Murkhi and Abdullah al Souti. Oman and Russia players in action. In the first period of the match, Russia entered the match strongly as they scored through Zemskov Fedor but the response was very quick from Oman as Mundhir al Oraimi managed to register the equaliser. The match referee started to show some yellow cards for both team players due to some tough interfaces. The Russian side were more intensified in attacking area but Oman's defenders blocked all their attempts as the first set ended at 1-1 draw. In the second period, Russia took the advantage as they scored the second goal by Maxim to make it 2-1. In the third and last period, the visitors extended their lead with a goal from Kusharni. Later, Oman managed to reduce the deficit through Abdullah al Souti and Musallam al Oraimi who revived the hopes by registering Oman's third goal to make it 3-3. Few minutes later, Russia responded with a fourth goal from Romanov Kirill and then fifth from Romanov Kirill before Vinogradov Amadeus sealed the win with sixth goal. Oman's Abdullah al Souti and Yahya al Murkhi received red cards while Khalid al Oraimi was shown a yellow. The match ended with Russia winning 6-3.

Oman beach soccer team enter final phase of preparation
MUSCAT, FEB 28 The Oman national beach soccer team began their latest and serious preparations for the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Thailand 2025 which will take place in Pattaya in Thailand from March 20 to 30, 2025. Sixteen players were called by veteran coach Talib Hilal for the underway domestic camp in Bausher and this gathering will feature four friendly matches against Russia and Belarus. The camp will begin with two matches against Russia on Monday and Wednesday while the preparatory games against Belarus are scheduled on March 8 and 10. Belarus confirmed their seat at 2025 Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup in Seychelles which will start following the Asian event in May. Oman had played against Russia in 2023 in Muscat and they had received two defeats by 9-3 and 4-3. At CIS Games in Belarus, Oman met Russia twice as they won in the first game by 7-4 before they had suffered to 9-3 in the third and fourth play-off. Oman will vie against Bahrain, Malaysia and Vietnam in Group D at AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Thailand 2025. The Asian event will act as qualifying event for the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup with the top three teams earning spots for the World Cup in Seychelles in May. The Oman team raised their warm-up sessions during the last period as they had several training sessions at the sandy court in Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. Oman head coach Talib Hilal affirmed in previous comments to Oman Observer that the team will work hard to compete for the Asian title in Thailand. In last January, Oman beach soccer team had played two friendly matches against Saudi Arabia. The first match ended in a 4-3 penalty shoot-out loss, while Oman secured a 3-1 victory in the second game. Oman team players will eye to rekindle the glory of 2015 when they were crowned Asian champions and secured their place among the continent's elite beach soccer teams. Oman players keep shape with preparatory camp
MUSCAT, FEB 12 The Oman national beach soccer team began its third domestic preparatory camp on Wednesday. The nine-day camp which will run until February 20 is inline to the team's preparations for the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Thailand 2025 which will take place in Pattaya from March 20 to 30. Oman team, under technical guidance of the experienced coach Talib Hilal, will aim to clinch the second title after they were crowned Asian champions in 2015. Oman took part in the Asian event for seven times. The national beach soccer team will play four friendly matches against Russia and Belarus in the upcoming camp which will take place during February 24 to March 10. The matches against Russia will be held on March 3 and 5 while the games against Belarus on March 8 and 10. The only aboard camp will be in Thailand ahead of the tournament from March 13 to 18 and it will include friendly match against Thailand on March 16. Oman team concluded recently a local training camp which featured two friendly matches against Saudi Arabia. The first match ended in a 4-3 penalty shoot-out loss, while Oman secured a 3-1 victory in the second game. In the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Thailand 2025, Oman have been drawn into Group D alongside Bahrain, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Oman will commence their campaign in the Asian event with a match against Vietnam in the opener on March 21 while they will meet Malaysia in the following match which will take place on March 23. The concluding match is scheduled to be held on March 25 against Bahrain. The top two from each group will advance to the quarterfinals. The competition will serve as the qualifying event for the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup, with the top three teams earning spots for the 2025 Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup in Seychelles.
