Al Dana Drama Award 2025 nominees for second edition
The organising committee of the Al Dana Drama Award 2025, held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and organised by the Ministry of Information, has announced the nominees for its second edition. The award includes 10 categories: Best Social Series, Best Comedy Series, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Rising Star, Best Original Score, Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Child Actor, and Best Visual Effects. Nominees for Best Social Series are Aaber Sabeel, Shaari Al Eshaa, and Wuhush. Best Comedy Series: Al Baa Tahtahu Nuqta, Yawmiyat Rajul Aanis, Afkar Ummi. Best Actor: Khalid Saqr, Ibrahim Al Hajjaj, Abdullah Bou Shehri. Best Actress: Fatima Al Safi, Laila Abdullah, Elham Ali. Best Rising Star (Male): Basil Al Salli, Ahmed Saeed, Abdulrahman bin Nafi. Best Rising Star (Female): Alaa Salem, Haneen Hamed, Lama Abdulwahab. Best Original Score: Radwan Nasri, Hossam Yousri, Nawaf Al Jamaan. Best Screenplay: Farid Strijdom (Squad), Badriya Al Bishr and Ozlem Yucel (Shaari Al Eshaa), Faisal Al Balushi (Wuhush). Golden Generation Cycling League concludes with high-speed drama by Bani Jamra
TDT | Manama The final round of the Khalid bin Hamad Golden Generation Cycling League wrapped up in style on the Nasser bin Hamad Circuit in Sakhir, drawing the curtain on one of Bahrain's most promising youth development competitions. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa—First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee—the championship brought together cyclists across the youth, cadet, and junior age groups. The decisive race was attended by Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Hamad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Cycling Association, alongside Dana Muthaffar, Deputy CEO of the General Sports Authority, as well as several senior officials, board members, and cycling enthusiasts. The event was hailed as a technical and organizational success, with a vibrant atmosphere that displayed the rising talent of Bahrain's young riders. Bani Jamra dominate on the podium In the Youth category, Bani Jamra's Mehdi Hassan claimed victory in the 28.8km race, finishing in an impressive 38:51 minutes. He was followed by Salman Hussein of Elite Academy (40:20) and Mohamed Aqeel, also of Bani Jamra (43:15). The Cadets race (18.4km) saw Hassan Aqeel of Bani Jamra take top honours with a time of 18:25, edging out Elite Academy's Abdulaziz Saleh (18:41) and clubmate Mohamed Hassan (18:42). In the Junior division, Bani Jamra achieved a clean sweep, with Thamer Aqeel winning the 6km race in 11:04, followed closely by Hussein Ali (11:24) and Sayed Abdullah Ali (11:25). Team results and participation Team standings crowned Bani Jamra as champions in the U19 category, ahead of Elite Academy and MM Academy. In the U17 division, Elite Academy took first, Bani Jamra came second, and MM Academy placed third. The league featured 4 clubs, with 16 youth riders, 19 cadets, and 12 juniors competing across 5 rounds. Among the participants were members of Bahrain's national team, supported by a team of 4 coaches, 3 assistant coaches, and 8 certified referees. At the closing ceremony, all winners were honoured across age groups. Organisers, officials, government agencies—such as Traffic Police and Community Police—were also recognised. A commemorative shield was presented by the Cycling Association to the General Sports Authority in appreciation of their crucial support.

Bahrain Participates in 37th GCC Olympic Committees Meeting in Kuwait
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, led Bahrain's delegation to the 37th Meeting of Their Highnesses, Excellencies, and Heads of Olympic Committees of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held in the State of Kuwait on Sunday, May 11, 2025. The Bahraini delegation also included His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Mr. Fares Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and Ms. Fajer Jassim, a board member of the committee. Key decisions made during the meeting included assigning the Executive Office and relevant committees to review the final report of the 3rd GCC Beach Games recently hosted by the Sultanate of Oman. The council also approved Qatar's request to host the 4th GCC Sports Games in 2026 and endorsed Kuwait's bid to host the 2nd GCC Youth Games in 2028. The council emphasized the importance of the Coordination and Follow-up Committee preparing a comprehensive schedule for collective Gulf sports tournaments for the years 2029–2032, aligning with regional and international sports calendars. Additionally, the UAE was approved to host the first-ever GCC Sports Law and Management Conference in 2026. The council also urged all Olympic committees to support the development of a unified platform for Gulf women's sports, aiming to ensure its success.
