FM receives his Sudanese counterpart on the sidelines of the Khartoum Process Ministerial Conference.
Basant Ahmed Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, received Dr. Ali Youssef El-Sherif, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan, today, Wednesday, on the sidelines of the Khartoum Process Ministerial Conference. Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the special nature of bilateral relations and the close historical ties between the two brotherly countries, stressing Egypt's support for Sudan and its security and stability. OPEN//FM lauds French President 's state visit to Egypt
CAIRO, April 9 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty praised Wednesday the important state visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Egypt that reflected the strategic nature of Egyptian-French relations especially after upgrade of relations between the two countries which see eye- to-eye on issues of common interest. During the foreign minister's meeting Wednesday with French Minister of State François-Noël Bouvet - on the sidelines of the Khartoum Process Ministerial Conference that kicked of at the New administrative Capital earlier in the day - Abdelatty accentuated the importance of building on the momentum generated by the visit to advance bilateral relations in the various fields toward border horizons and to continue working closely to develop and deepen bilateral strategic partnership. He congratulated the French official on his country's assumption of the rotating presidency of the Khartoum Process stressing his country's commitment to supporting the French presidency and building on the achievements made during Egypt's presidency. Abdelatty also voiced his aspiration to continue highlighting cooperation between the two countries in the field of migration. OPEN// Egypt hosts meeting on safe return, reintegration of migrants
CAIRO, Feb 26 (MENA) – Egypt, as the current chair of the Khartoum Process, co-hosted a meeting in Addis Ababa on ensuring the safe and dignified return and reintegration of migrants, in partnership with Switzerland and Ethiopia. Wael Badawi, deputy assistant foreign minister for migration, said the discussions tackled voluntary return programs, reintegration challenges, and investment in origin and destination countries to support long-term stability. Officials stressed the need for a structured system to assist returning migrants and ensure sustainable reintegration. The meeting aligns with Egypt's migration strategy, balancing humanitarian, political, and security concerns. Egypt will host the Khartoum Process Ministerial Conference in April 2025, chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, with participation from African and European officials. The Khartoum Process, a political platform for migration cooperation between East Africa and Europe, includes 40 member states, the EU, Switzerland, and Norway. (MENA) H A T/S R E
