Anas Maghrebi, best known as the frontman of Syrian rock band Khebez Dawle, steps into a new sonic era with 'Night Shift', the debut album under his electronic alias abu muhammad.
Released by Dubai-based Ya Boy Records, the seven-track record is a bold reinterpretation of folk songs from Syria, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, reimagining classics through a hyper-modern sound palette.
With vocals, production, and arrangement all handled by abu muhammad himself, the album is an exercise in duality: nostalgic and futuristic, emotional and club-ready. 'Night Shift' is mastered by Heba Kadry (NYC), and sees Maghrebi drawing from UK Garage, Afro Bass, Jazrawi rhythms and EDM, layered under airy vocals that flirt with pop accessibility without sacrificing depth.
Whether you're dancing, listening, or decoding the kick-snare-bass chemistry, 'Night Shift' gives you more than one way in. It's not just folklore remixed, it's folklore reborn.
