3 domestic helps held for violent heist in Ambabari
Jaipur: City police Monday arrested three men who posed as domestic helps and fled with Rs 1.5 after committing a violent robbery at a house in the Ambabari area of Vidhyadhar Nagar on March 3.
The accused tied up and assaulted a 45-year-old woman before decamping with diamond-studded gold jewellery worth several to SHO (Vidhyadhar Nagar) Rakesh Khyaliya, the accused worked under false identities and targeted affluent households. "They earned the trust of their employers and then executed the crime with precision. A manhunt was launched across the city, and after examining scores of CCTV camera footage, we managed to arrest them. Several stolen valuables have been recovered," said accused were identified as Inderjeet Kumar Gupta, Ashok Mandal, and Radheshyam Mandal — all residents of Bihar. Police said the trio assaulted the woman at her residence on April 3, tied her hands, gagged her, and fled with jewellery and other items. Crime scene investigators found broken locks and bloodstains, pointing to a violent revealed a clear modus operandi. The men would secure jobs as domestic workers under fake names, often using forged documents. After gaining the household's trust, they would strike and vanish. Post-crime, they switched off their phones and used mobile devices of strangers — such as bus conductors or fellow travellers — to evade tracking. After the Ambabari robbery, they fled Rajasthan and crossed into Nepal, using local SIM cards to on technical inputs, police teams were formed and deployed across different locations. Inderjeet was apprehended in Agra, while Ashok and Radheshyam were arrested in Bihar with the help of local police.
