Kick the Stigma: Dubois wellness event returns for third year

DUBOIS, Pa. (WTAJ) — A community event dedicated to breaking stigma and promoting wellness is returning for its third year in Dubois. The 3rd annual 'Kick the Stigma' Day of Wellness will take place Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at DuBois City Park, featuring a mix of sports, live entertainment and mental health resources. The event aims to challenge misconceptions surrounding mental health and other personal struggles while encouraging attendees to prioritize overall well-being. This year's highlights include the 'Kick the Stigma' kickball tournament, the addition of a new pickleball tournament, an all-ages art contest, family-friendly activities and live performances by local musicians. Wellness experts will also be on hand to share coping strategies and connect attendees with local resources. 'Stigma is a barrier that prevents individuals from seeking the help they need,' Aaron M. Beatty, event organizer, said. 'This event is about creating a space where everyone feels seen, supported and connected to the resources that can make a difference in their lives.' Local businesses and community members can support the event through sponsorships, which range from event sponsorships to vendor participation. Proceeds will benefit wellness-focused initiatives in the DuBois area.
