Nixa rallies past Rockhurst, into state semifinals
NIXA, Mo–March Madness continued at the high school level Friday night as well.
The bigger Class 4, 5 and 6 schools were in quarterfinals for the boys.
And in Class 6, the Nixa Eagles hosted Rockhurst.
Nixa was in the quarters for the first time in three seasons.
The Eagles got the home crowd going early.
Kievon Flint's three pointer capped a 6-0 run to start the contest.
Jumping to the tail end of the first half, the Hawklets break a tie with a three pointer of their own.
Rockhurst led 28-27 at the break.
Second half, the Eagles opened the third quarter on a 9-0 run capped off by Adam McKnight's transition layup taking a comfortable 36-28 edge.
Nixa would make enough plays and key free throws down the stretch to defeat Rockhurst 58-49.
Sending the Eagles to the Class 6 Final Four for the first time since 2022.
