Selena Gomez ditching major wedding tradition with fiancé Benny Bianco
Selena Gomez is breaking the bridal rulebook — and skipping one of the most time-honored wedding traditions — as she gears up to say 'I do' to Benny Blanco. The Only Murders in the Building star, 32, admitted she's planning to ditch the classic bride and groom dance at their reception because she's too shy. 'I don't think we're looking at having one of those 'cause they're a little — I feel embarrassed,' she said on Wednesday's episode of Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware. 'She's shy,' Blanco, 37, confirmed. But while there won't be a traditional first dance, Selena revealed she's making room for a deeply meaningful moment — a special dance with her grandfather. 'He never got a chance to walk my mom down the aisle,' she shared. 'I wanted to give [my grandfather] the opportunity to have that.' Another tradition that will be on the dance floor? The Hora — also known as the 'chair dance' — as a nod to Blanco's Jewish heritage. And while Selena's on board, she confessed she's more than a little nervous. 'I've got to be honest, it looks so cute and adorable but I was like, "What? I have to depend on just something like [a chair]?"' The pop star confirmed her relationship with the producer in December 2023, and the pair got engaged a year later. 'Forever starts now,' Selena wrote at the time, showing off her sparkling diamond ring. Selena and Benny have known each other for over a decade — since 2013, when he first met her mom, Mandy Teefey. He later co-produced two of her hits Kill Em With Kindness and Same Old Love, from her 2015 album Revival. The wedding tradition removal comes after Selena admitted she felt 'alone' and 'didn't like anyone' for five years after her relationship with ex Bieber ended. The singer and Justin, 31, dated on/off for nearly a decade before officially splitting in 2018. Two months after the former couple split, Justin and wife Hailey, who'd had a previous fling in 2016, rekindled their flame in mid-2018 and married later that year. Both Justin and Hailey have denied any overlap in their relationships. While Justin moved on months later, Selena said she felt very 'alone' in the aftermath of their breakup before finally meeting her fiancé Benny. Selena made the rare admission as she discussed her and Benny's 'embarrassing' first kiss on the podcast Benny said: 'Towards the end of the date, we were just sitting in the living room on the couch, and we were playing, 'We're not really Strangers'. 'And there was a thing where it said, take a selfie with the person next to you, and she got right on my chest and took a selfie. 'And then right after, I just looked at her, and I said, I gotta kiss this girl. And I kissed her right away. 'And her heart started beating so quickly, and she started getting a rash on her face, and she was so nervous.' Selena added: 'I hadn't liked anyone in a very long time. So some kisses are for fun, and then when you feel something behind a kiss, it's completely different. 'And I'd been alone for about five years, with the exception of a few s****y dates here and there, but never felt that way. And I was a little embarrassed.' Hailey has faced public scrutiny and was previously accused of 'stealing' Justin off Selena following their high profile split. To prove there was 'no beef or bad feelings' between Hailey and Selena, the pair put on a united display in 2022 as they posed for a picture together.

Selena Gomez Is Saving Benny Blanco Proposal Details—And the Reason Is So Cute
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are having quite a busy start to the year. After announcing their engagement in December, yesterday, the pair announced that they would be dropping an album—together. This news was followed by the couple's first joint interview in Interview Magazine. Speaking to the magazine's editor-in-chief, Mel Ottenberg, the pair opened up about their adorable relationship—they are both morning people! They love to go on both cozy and fancy dates together! They are each other's best friends! It's all super cute. But one moment of the interview was particularly touching. When Ottenberg asked the pair to open up about the proposal, Gomez explained that she wanted to keep the details private for now—her reason? "That I want to save for our kids," she said. She did add, "It was really sweet and the right things were said." The proposal was certainly a unique one. Based on videos posted by the pair on social media, it appeared to take place on a Hollywood soundstage set up to look like a picnic in the park. Even more unusual? It turned out the picnic was all food from Taco Bell. Not exactly your classic proposal, but as an insider later told People, it was perfect for Gomez. "It was very her," the source said, adding, "it was a total surprise to Selena." In their new interview, Blanco confirmed that his proposal was indeed a big surprise. "It was the sickest surprise that she had no idea about and it couldn't have come at a better time because I was starting to fuck up," he said. He went on: "The thing that makes me so crazy is, you're getting engaged, and right before, they're like, 'Show me how good of a liar you are. Sneak around and try to do this perfect thing without me knowing.' At the end, she was starting to get upset because she was like, 'Why aren't you coming home tonight?' And I was like, 'Oh, I'm just at my friends.' I almost did it early. But I nailed it, I think." Gomez confirmed, "You did." Gomez and Blanco have been an official couple since December 2023, but they actually met years earlier. The pair collaborated on the songs "Kill Em With Kindness" and "Same Old Love" in 2015 and later on Gomez's 2023 song "Single Soon". As Blanco explained in their recent interview, they were actually set up (professionally) by her mother. "This is right when I became big and she wasn't a singer yet," he said. Gomez and Blanco were friends for years until Gomez realized she wanted something more. "I liked him before he liked me," she said. The pair went out for dinner a few times and that was that. "The second we started hanging out, I was like, 'This is my wife.' I was telling my mom, 'This is the girl I'm going to marry,'" Blanco said. Asked their wedding plans, the pair said they hadn't gotten that far yet. As Gomez put it, "We want to be so happy right now in this moment." Read the original article on InStyle
