Alaska Airlines adds more nonstop flights from San Diego

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Alaska Airlines announced on Tuesday more nonstop flights out of San Diego International Airport and other actions that will make the airline the one with the most nonstop flights at the airport. Alaska Airlines is adding new nonstop routes from San Diego to three destinations across the country this year — Phoenix, Denver, and Chicago — and will be adding more flights to the most popular destinations from San Diego — Las Vegas, San Jose, Sacramento and Salt Lake City. Year-round service between San Diego and Phoenix begins on Aug. 20, while flights between San Diego and Chicago O'Hare and Denver will start on Oct. 4. Each route will fly three times per day in a 737 aircraft. Then, starting on Oct. 26, Alaska Airlines is adding six daily nonstop flights between San Diego and Las Vegas, Sacramento and San Jose, Calif., and three daily flights to Salt Lake City. That includes flights to the East Coast, the Northwest, throughout California, Mexico, Florida and to all four major islands in Hawaii.
