6-year-old autistic boy found drowned in lake

PETALING JAYA : A six-year-old boy with autism reported missing while playing near a lake at Batu Putih in Menggaris, Sabah, yesterday afternoon was found dead last night.
He is believed to have drowned.
Kinabatangan fire and rescue station chief Hairi Utoh said the body was discovered in the lake by villagers at about 8.45pm, Berita Harian reported.
The lake is about 100m from the boy's house.
'The body has been handed over to the police for further action,' Hairi said in a statement.
He said the boy was reported missing by his family at about 2pm after he was believed to be playing by the lakeside.
A search and rescue operation was launched by authorities with the help of local residents after receiving the family's report.
