Kinetic Credit Union Golden Apple Award Winner: Ashleigh Drew
This week's Kinetic Credit Union Golden Apple Award Winner is Ashleigh Drew, a biology teacher at Carver High School. Clint Perkins from Kinetic Credit Union presented the award. A Columbus State University graduate, Drew is in her second year of teaching. Nominated by one of her students, they wrote, 'she's a great teacher and an inspirational person who makes it easy and fun to learn.' Drew was honored to be recognized and was glad her student noticed her hard work and dedication. She always knew she wanted to be a teacher but wasn't sure of the subject. Kinetic Credit Union Golden Apple Award Winner: Talaya Williams
This week's Kinetic Credit Union Golden Apple Award winner is Talaya Williams, a 12th grade teacher at Opelika High School. Principal Kelli Fischer proudly presented her with the award. An Alabama State University graduate, she has been teaching for 27 years. Williams was nominated by a student who describes her as an admirable teacher who looks after you when you need it or not. The idea of knowing she might hopefully make an impact on at least one student's life is what keeps her coming to work everyday. If she's able to do that, then her job is done.
