Jefferson Parish deputies announce 2025 Family Gras road closures
METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — Carnival season is underway in the Greater New Orleans area, which means Jefferson Parish is gearing up for Family Gras.
The free, three-day event is returning to Metairie this year on Feb. 21, Feb. 22 and Feb. 23, with live music and food.

Family Gras goers can expect performances from a variety of artists, including Zebra, Ambrosia, Debbie Gibson, Amanda Shaw and more.
With the fun-filled festival making its way across the street from Lakeside Mall in Metairie at Mardi Gras Plaza, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office has announced a series of road closures in anticipation.
On Friday, Feb. 21, Veterans Boulevard will be closed in both directions between North Causeway Boulevard and Severn Avenue starting at 2 p.m. until all parades have ended.
On Saturday, Feb. 22, and Sunday, Feb. 23, Veterans Boulevard will be closed in both directions between North Causeway Boulevard and Severn Avenue starting at 9 a.m. until all parades have been completed.
