Car seized outside south Essex school as year 6 pupils join speeding crackdown
PUPILS from a Thundersley primary school got a taste of roads policing on Friday as they took part in an Essex Police speeding crackdown.
The Year 6 Kingston Primary School pupils spent time with officers from Thundersley's Neighbourhood Policing Team and used speed monitoring equipment to learn about the importance of road safety.
During the event, 34 vehicles were stopped for travelling in excess of the posted speed limit and nine drivers were reported for speeds of between 37mph and 45mph.
One driver was also caught without insurance and their car was seized. The same driver was also not wearing a seat belt and was found in possession of nitrous oxide, a class C drug, for which they received a community resolution.
