Search for Swiss walker missing in Scottish mountains for a week
A search is ongoing for a Swiss walker last seen in the Scottish mountains a week ago.
Bernard, who has been hiking alone, was last heard from several miles north of Glenfinnan, en route to A'Chuil bothy near Spean Bridge on Tuesday, May 27.
The 65-year-old is said to be walking the Cape Wrath Trail between Glenfinnan and Barrisdale Bay or Kinloch Hourn.
Fellow hikers believe he may have stayed at A'Chuil and or Sourlies bothy in Knoydart in the last few days.
He is said to be wearing an orange jacket and is likely with his tent.
The Cape Wrath Trail is a more than 200-mile long-distance route from Fort William to the most north-westerly point of Scotland.
The unofficial, unmarked route is widely considered to be the toughest long-distance walk in the UK.
Kintail Mountain Rescue urged anyone with information on him, or anyone who has seen him, to get in contact with them.
Skye Mountain Rescue also shared the appeal.
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
