The Tivoli, Buckley, celebrating its 100th birthday
The Tivoli, in Buckley, turns 100 on Sunday, May 25 - and there is a weekend of live music and entertainment to celebrate the landmark.
Since opening its doors on May 25, 1925, the Tivoli has captivated generations with unforgettable performances, cinematic magic, and musical milestones.
(Image: The Tivoli) Originally built as a cinema and variety theatre, the Tivoli has grown to become a dynamic venue for live music, comedy, and more; standing as a testament to Buckley's vibrant cultural legacy.
An old photograph of The Tivoli. (Image: The Tivoli) The venue has played host to the likes of Radiohead, Oasis, Status Quo, Thin Lizzy, Slade, Motorhead, The Manic Street Preachers, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath and Ian Brown - the lead singer of The Stone Roses.
(Image: The Tivoli) To honour this historic milestone, the Tivoli will host a Centenary Gala Weekend from May 23-25 featuring a line-up of local talent, headline acts and heritage displays.
On Friday (May 23), Madchester rockers The Inspiral Carpets will take to the stage followed by indie band The Sherlocks on May 25.
The Inspiral Carpets (Image: Inspiral Carpets/Sonic PR) Big Stars Little Stars theatre group will also be performing a Peter Pan panto on Thursday, May 22 - starting at 6pm.

The line up of events aims to bring together past and present patrons, performers, and community members for a weekend of nostalgia and celebration.
