Palak Tiwari opens up on not being a ‘typical' star kid: There is privilege but not enough of it

Two years after her debut in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Palak Tiwari returned to the big screen this May with the horror-comedy The Bhootnii. But the actor insists that her journey hasn't been like any other industry kid. Being the daughter of actor Shweta Tiwari, Palak Tiwari is a star kid, but with her mum's stronger background being in TV, she wasn't seen as any other star kid in the Hindi film industry. 'I was somewhere in this middle ground. I was like, 'oh these people are calling me a star kid, but I'm not really a star kid. But also, I'm not a normal person who's auditioning in Andheri'. So, there was this privilege but not enough of it; there was also normalcy, but not enough of it too. It was very tough to find my place. In many ways, it was a privilege, but in many ways, I was typecast instantly. I did struggle with that, but I'm still trying to find my place,' she says. Ask Palak if she feels she is somewhere living her mum's dream of being on the big screen too with her journey, and she shares, 'My mother got multiple chances to be on the big screen, but she was very content with television. It has given her and us so much. I have a house with a roof, and I have cars in my life due to it. My life is comfortable, my brother has lived a comfortable life, all because of television, so I will always respect and honour television. My mom was very happy there and aisa kabhi nahi tha unhe ki wo chod ke films mein jana hai. She really knows her roots, and she never was greedy in that sense.' So, with a legacy of her mother behind her name, why did she decide to venture into films and not TV? 'It wasn't like I didn't want to do television because it's a smaller medium, not at all. TV has given our industry such brilliant, versatile and phenomenal actors. But I felt that because of my mom's legacy in television, everything that there was to be explored, she had done that. So, there was nothing new for me to discover there,' she responds.

5 times Palak Tiwari twinned with Shweta Tiwari and proved she got those killer looks from her mom

Everyone knows that Palak Tiwari is drop-dead-gorgeous, but only millennials know where her beauty comes from—the 2000s TV icon and her mother, Shweta Tiwari. The Kasautii Zindagi Kay fame has been admired for her bewitching beauty for over two decades and counting, and now her daughter has gracefully inherited the beauty throne. One other aspect similar between them is their impeccable fashion sense. The mother-daughter duo often serves awe-inspiring fashion moments, sometimes even looking similar. Here are 5 times when Palak and Shweta Tiwari donned similar outfits and looked like twins: 1. Co-ords Shweta and Palak looked indistinctive in the beige vest top and trousers combo. While the former picked her fit from Charaavi studio, the latter curated hers from Helen Anthony. Both sported identical co-ord outfits and slayed with their own charisma. While the mother went for a tropical look with contoured makeup and wavy tresses, Palak took a more peppy route with pinkish makeup and straight hair. They both wore beige heels, going for a monochromatic look. 2. Black gown This mother-daughter duo knows how to leave their fans smitten. Shweta wore a full-coverage black gown with its upper half ruched, solid fabric, and lower half sultrily sheer. Falling in line with the same, the Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan actress too wore a full-length, body-hugging black gown, albeit with a train. Both the divas went for gilded jewelry for these looks. 3. Brown plus gold aesthetic Bodycons and Tiwari ladies are a lethal combo. Both the fashionistas slipped into similar brown dresses and exuded undeniable charm. Along with the dress, everything about their look was similar—golden jewelry, winged eyeliner make-up, and side-swept hair. And oh! Their siren girl energy with the same killer look can make anyone stare at them in awe. 4. Beige saree Shweta Tiwari and Palak Tiwari mirrored each other in beige cocktail saree looks. The former's saree from the label Vinita Paryani highlighted columns of shimmery sequins. On the other hand, Palak's soulful beige saree with glitter embellishments from designer Dolly J held a surreal allure. While Shweta, aka Prerna, went for an understated vibe with a simple blouse, her daughter wore a highly embellished blouse. Nevertheless, they both looked equally stunning in their beige flairs. 5. Mint green Both mother and daughter posted their gorgeous looks in a mint green saree and left fans swooning. Twinning and slaying, both wore bejeweled sarees in a similar hue. While Shweta's saree boasted an array of sequin work, the The Bhootni actress's drape featured a tulle fabric, tucked with embellishments. Both of them wore similar blouses with straps and a sweetheart neckline, exuding glamorous energy. The 44-year-old santoor mom, Shweta Tiwari, and the 24-year-old starlet Palak Tiwari have admirably similar fashion sense, and it shows!

Palak Tiwari Radiates Ethnic Allure In Nature-Themed House Of Masaba Lehenga

Palak Tiwari proves yet again that she is an actress by profession and a fashionista by choice. Her wardrobe offers a versatile mix of contemporary flair and ethnic brilliance. This time, the Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan actress embraced an ethnic charm in a stunning navy blue lehenga set. Palak Tiwari played muse to fashion designer, Masaba Gupta. The halter-neck blouse in the two-piece ensemble was an understated sartorial statement, minus any heavy adornments. It featured a delicate palm tree motif embroidery in the centre of her chest in shades of green and brown. Plus all the subtle gold embellishments around the neckline offered the right amount of contrast to the navy blue palette. Palak Tiwari paired the fitted blouse with a dramatic lehenga skirt. Nature-inspired motifs in an array of colours including yellow, green and red contributed to its eye catching element. Digitally printed kalis and an ornately decorated waistband elevated the look a notch higher. The flower and leaf patterns dominating the lehenga skirt cascaded vertically in a structured manner, forming a flawless finish. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Palak Tiwari (@palaktiwarii) The floor-grazing, voluminous skirt paired with the edgy blouse was perfect for a pre-wedding ceremony. Are you taking notes, because we definitely are. Coming to her accessories, Palak Tiwari adhered to the boho-chic aesthetics. She opted for stacked bracelets on one hand and a huge golden ring. A pair of jhumkas with little pear droplets at the bottom sealed her ornamentation game. The junk jewellery choice added an eclectic vibe to Palak's ensemble. She skipped wearing necklaces, allowing her outfit to steal all the spotlight. As for her makeup, Palak Tiwari went with a soft glam base. Rosy blush laden cheeks created a naturally flushed effect and a hint of highlighter enhanced her allure. Palak paid special attention to her eye glam with an intense interplay of kohl and eyeliner to give it a smokey look. Her nude hued lips sealed the deal for her glamorous avatar. A micro bindi and wavy tresses left loose rounded off her desi -girl appeal.
