Frost's Fourth Line Making A Significant Impact In PWHL Playoffs

As the Minnesota Frost inch closer to their second Walter Cup title, the team is receiving contributions from every corner of their roster, including their fourth line of Katy Knoll, Liz Schepers and Klárá Hymlárová. In the regular season, Knoll and Hymlárová each totalled only a goal and an assist apiece. Schepers had two goals and six points. The trio had four goals and 10 points in 77 games. In the playoffs to date, the trio, in only 21 combined games have already equalled their regular season total. That included Katy Knoll's triple-overtime winner in game three to give the Frost a 2-1 series lead, and give them two chances to claim their second Walter Cup. 'It's been awesome playing with Liz (Schepers) and Hymla (Klárá Hymlárová) lately and I think we've really gelled well from the end of the season and (in the) playoffs––and we try to just really support each other," Knoll said following game four. "It's a fast-paced game out there and the more that we support each other the more success we're going to have. We know that we have to be gritty and grind in order to get those goals and get those opportunities. I thought all night long we were knocking at the door, and it was just a matter of time before one of us put one in.' After game two, another overtime 2-1 win for the Frost, head coach Ken Klee also acknowledged the impact his fourth line was making. The line was seeing key minutes and responding. 'They've been really strong in the playoffs," said Klee of Schepers, Knoll, and Hymlárová. "They have great depth, and they simplify the game, get pucks deep and they go to work. They know what their job is, they all read off each other well and have good sticks. It's been great for us to have them just to help with our scoring because we need everybody and we know it." Knoll and Hymlárová each have four points this playoff run, with Knoll recording a pair of goals, and Hymlárová scored Minnesota's only goal in game one of the PWHL finals. The contributions of Minnesota's fourth line in the PWHL finals has been crucial given the fact Minnesota's top line of Kendall Coyne Schofield, Taylor Heise, and Michela Cava have yet to record a point in three games. A potentially deciding game four gets underway at 5pm EST on Monday, May 26, which is Memorial Day in the United States.
